WHY MASSAGE for DOGS?

All dogs can benefit from massage.  Massage therapy is effective for relieving tense and sore muscles, increasing circulation, and relaxing the animal.  A regular massage program is effective for maintaining muscle health.  Regular maintenance massages help to keep the muscles supple and promote good circulation, which increases the blood supply and therefore increased delivery of nutrients to the muscles.

Muscle and joint health becomes compromised for many reasons in today’s society.  Common problems that may benefit from massage are:

Back Problems  Arthritis           Luxating Patella  Hip Dysplasia
Surgery recovery  Chronic Disease   Stress/Anxiety           Post Operative   Rehabilitation
Scar Tissue  Sore muscles from over-exercise      Osteochronrosis Dissecans (OCD)     Obesity

Massage will help to locate and relieve sore, stiff and tired muscles.  Muscles that are tight, or in a contracted state put pressure on surrounding tissues.  This causes a decrease in blood circulation, restricted movement, nerve irritation and resultant pain.  If not relieved and loosened this tightness can cause more problems and will continue to worse.
