WELCOME – EQUINE MASSAGE
I am frequently asked if it takes a lot of strength to massage a horse. My answer is always a surprise to the questioner. It takes less strength to massage a horse than it does another human being. Horses have such a highly sensitized vascular system, they are often able to experience the effects and benefits of massage with much less pressure.
Horse owners are often surprised when I find areas of pain and tension on their horse that they were not aware of. Horses carry much more pain in their muscles than we will ever be aware of. It is their nature to hide pain. These magnificent courageous animals are animals of prey and it is the animals in the herd that show weakness that are selected and killed by predators. What is more often noticed by the owner are behaviors that become repetitious or even annoying. What may seem to be stubbornness or a training issue is often a symptom of muscle pain, tension and/or imbalance that will reside after effective massage treatment.
I will touch on only a few aspects of the benefits of Equine Massage and Bodywork for the sake of time. If you have questions I would be glad to provide more in-depth information.
There is so very much more to share. To see your horse relax and move more comfortably from the benefits of massage is a truly beautiful thing to see.
