“I have had the pleasure of having my 3 equine friends receive the incredible benefit of Debbie’s wonderful massage touch. She is the most gentle, intuitive soul with the horses and people too. My new horse (Louie the lip) made incredible changes in his way of moving and responding positively to the saddle after just 1 session. Rumour that is a rescue PMU mare, very reserved and introverted, came alive after her body work. She was nickering and asking for attention the next day, something she had never done before!! It was an amazing change in her whole way of responding to people. This method of body work enlightened us all! I feel so blessed to have Debbie in all our lives!"

BENEFITS OF EQUINE MASSAGE and BODYWORK

Most horses will benefit from Equine Massage (such as myofascial release, sports massage) and Bodywork (such as Reiki, Masterson Method™).  There are very specific circumstances that are not appropriate for massage intervention such as fever, the acute stage of an injury or certain disease pathologies.  Massage therapy is never a substitute for veterinary care and be wary of any equine massage therapist that would discourage
appropriate veterinary intervention.

Some horses that are considered aggressive receive the greatest benefit of massage and bodywork as aggression and stubborn behaviors are often a response to tension or pain.

Benefits to your horse include:

Enhance muscle tone         Relax muscle spasm
Prevent and relieve adhesions  Increase range of movement
Help prevent injury     Reduce pain and swelling
Maintain strength and suppleness    Decrease annoying behaviors and habits
Prevent muscle atrophy during periods of rest or restricted work
